Across the Sea

Standing on the rocks looking out to sea
Waves lapping at the shore in a gentle caress
Winds of change blow full the sails of desire
My thoughts ride the ocean of need and love

Imagination unfurls the restriction of distance
Closing my eyes, you materialize before me
My hands slip into yours and we hold tight
Feeling the warmth of each other's touch spread

I open my eyes to empty arms and a heavy heart
Only in my mind does your touch linger still
Ocean breeze swirling around in a dance of loneliness
Tears of longing flow freely from my eyes

My future ruled by hope in the journey of dreams
Fear not my prince for you are king of my heart
The same winds of change will bring me to you
Time and distance will be conquered by love

    Ooo unfurl, good word usage. XD

    The second to last stanza made me go :(. It was sad. The last stanza brought hope though, which was a great way to end the poem seeing how it's a love poem. I really liked how you stuck with the ocean theme instead of doing a bunch of unrelated metaphors. That was cool. Five out of five.

    Intense and deep I would have to say. For time can also make people become distant. You have to watch out. But if the love is true it can surpass anything. 5/5

    Wow, this was so emotional.. truely amazing. the pain and longing crept out through your words and really gave me a look inside your heart.. nice work.

    my favourite line was
