Tell yourself to breathe,
Things have to be okay,
This is the burden you've been given,
It isn't going to go away.

Hold yourself together,
He needs you to be strong,
This can't last forever,
Pray it won't be long.

Again you'll hold him in your arms,
And whisper I love you's in his ear,
Things will be like they were before,
You can hold him close and dear.

Remember this is all for him,
Despite the pain it brings,
Someday he'll understand,
And forget how much this stings.

Even when you feel like breaking,
And the tears won't be dried,
The end result is worth,
Every night you cried.

His son is more important,
And can never be replaced,
Remember this when it gets too much,
So your efforts aren't laid to waste.

He can't handle losing,
His one and only son,
Just a little longer,
Then this'll all be done.

The pain will be a memory,
And all just fade away,
Calm yourself a little more,
Take it day by day.
