War (Tyburn)

by Ingrid   Jan 16, 2009

War (Tyburn)

Starving
Dying
Hoping
praying
All around people starving, dying
Helpless victims still hoping, praying

Dedicated to all victims of war all around our globe and to the ones who are dying of starvation while the superfluous grain and milk is rotting away in containers in the "civilized" countries.

Tyburn - A six line poem consisting of 2, 2, 2, 2, 9, 9 syllables. The first four lines rhyme and are all descriptive words. The last two lines rhyme and incorporate the first, second, third, and fourth lines as the 5th through 8th syllables.

This poem was inspired by my friend Silvia: http://www.poems-and-quotes.com/misc/poems.php?id=1105148

An angry powerful piece here Ingrid, again showing your talent of producing work with few words, but ones that shout out real meaning.
You have a talent there without doubt.
    Well penned.

Your poem is a brilliant piece. I really liked the note you added at the bottom also, its so true.. while people are starving to death, food is sitting around wasting away. It really is sad what the world is coming to. Its an interesting form that you wrote the poem in.. really well done as usual :)
    5/5

A really beautiful format, I have never heard of it before, but I thank you for posting it, now I can try it sometime later. Your words were very powerful and moving, and it really shows the awfulness and results of war, how we must keep on praying for them. Touching write, thanks for sharing! 5/5 from me, take care....
