Back to the where I started

by kevin Boundy AKA the ghost   Mar 9, 2009

Here I stand on this private drive
Staring at the shopping center wall ahead
It seems it's been 9 years
My innocence has remained dead

I remember the moment
Sitting here on the curb
"Nothing can be better then this" I exclaim
While I'm smoking some potent herb

I fall onto my back laughing
Staring at the sky without a care
I didn't know what was going to happen
I didn't know they were there

My view of the beautiful stars is obscured
A Louisville bat comes into view
My sight went red as the blows reigned
I prayed to god i would make it through

Two broken ribs and a cracked skull
A parting gift from Friends of an enemy
But as i look up sky still spinning
I know they haven't seen the end of me

My brother taught me a good lesson
Never ever smoke alone
I pull out my unseen companion
He has a body made of chrome

Finding strength to stand
I pull my gun from my waist
I am in so much pain
It's time to give them a taste

I let out three shots
Silence split by a loud crack
They all jerk and fall to their knees
After that my sight went black

I woke up in the hospital
My brother is sitting by my side
His eyes are red from not just exhaustion
But from all the tears he cried

The nurse came in and asked what happened
I didn't know what to say
Just when I was going to seal my fate
My brother saved the day

He said he asked and I don't remember
That I just need some rest
I look up to my older brother
And I realize he's the best

Alone now the tension sets in
But finally my fear stood diminished
I asked him about the guys
And he told me "it's finished"

I open my eyes and I'm 21
Reminisce the story untold
Here I am back where I started
That happened when i was 12 years old
