Nik Dancing With Roses

by Lady Nik   Jun 8, 2009

She can't stop crying
This girl they call Nik.
Words throb inside her skull
But these words she dare not speak.
She looks down at her scarred wrists
And wonders when the blades will set her free.
The air filling her lungs, remains borrowed
For she cannot force herself to breathe.

A mysterious stranger
Admires her teary face from a far
He wants to bring upon a smile
To the damaged pieces of her heart.
Somehow his magical charm
Keeps her from breaking into more parts.
His intentions shine brightly
Reminding Nik of her fondness for the stars

Nik is now dancing with roses
While the music of the stranger plays.
Her heart has never felt so whole
She can only wish this feeling stays
For five years, the blade has ruled
But in the realm of roses the blade no longer remains
With the stranger by her side
This dance will linger throughout the rest of her days.

*For my best friend. Thank you*

This is a fantastic piece. I loved the story. It was like a dream that comes back to me about a past I've tried to leave behind. For a poem to draw this out of me, I must say, I'm impressed. Awsome writing.

This poem is brimming with emotion with a beautiful depiction of what is going on. A story, from start to finish acting as a narrator to a story. This was a wonderfully written piece.

And wonders when the blades will set her free.

Wow. This was magnificent. It held a constant rhythm and the flow was catchy. I felt like i was living your life. You captured the essence
of this poems meaning so brilliantly. Everyone needs a friend. A best friend that will help us conquer our fears and up us create some individuality for ourselves.Sometimes friends teach us to gain independence as well. This piece was ardent and spoke in delicate tones. You leveled out the intensity. Not many poets can enable their works to hold just the right amount of each emotion. But you wrote and succeeded in sculpting a mighty fine poem. Each stanza captivated me.

    - This stanza was the best and it was an admirable conclusion. I liked it the best.

Altogether you have penned a marvelous piece. I can relate to "the blade" and also the best friend. I respect you for this write. It's amazing!

    Bravo!
