When I'm Gone

I'll leave you my scent with the last hug
just before I step out of your doorway
I'll sing along every song so you hear
my echo with every record you play
If you couldn't find me then remember
there will always be some other way

Read in between the lines
of all the letters I left you behind
Look closely at our old pictures
there maybe something new to find
Listen to the songs of hummingbirds
they will draw a picture on your mind

Start looking for me through
the minutes of our yesterdays
Try to remember what I secretly
said the last time we prayed
Find the reason that chained me
to always come here and stay

- But stop,
don't do it yet, just wait
until I am already gone.

    The rhyme was so not forced that I did not find myself conciously struggling for a beat which came so naturally flowing
    , and romatic imagery that left me feeling sorry for the fool that let you go
