Welcome The Sun

by Jenna Bella Oldridge   Mar 31, 2012

Ice is getting thinner
It is starting to thaw
Seasons finally changing
I'm stronger than before

Your spell is getting weaker
Your reign is coming to an end
All the snow is melting
This time it's not pretend

Open up your sleepy eyes
You're really losing me
Welcome to your deepest fear
I am close to being free

Frozen beneath the waves
Now coming up for air
Finally ready to face you
This time I dare

Dare to live for me
Do what needs to be done
Phase out your winter
And welcome the sun

For the tide is turning
Spring is on its way
This is my time now
You have had your day

I love this poem hun. There is a positive feel to it, as if you are becoming free and facing your fears in life. I think it is wonderful. Your poems are always awesome in rhyming and the flow was beautiful.

I very much enjoyed reading it!!!
