Carpe Diem (Tri-fall).

by Steven Beesley   Jun 5, 2012

Do what you can right now,
seize the day.
Try to do as much as you can.
As much as time allows
all the way.
Need not even have a game plan

Do as much as you please.
What you like,
for the rest of the afternoon.
The chance for you to sieze!
Need to strike
it whilst everything is in tune.

Whatever your pleasure.
Enjoy Life!
Forget what tomorrow brings?
At your complete leisure!
Remove strife,
for today we live like kings!

The Tri-fall, created by Jan Turner consists three
6-line stanzas, for a total of 18 lines. The rhyme
scheme is a ,b, c, a, b, c and meter for each stanza
is as follows: 6/3/8, 6/3/8.

This is very interesting. I have never heard of the tri-fall before-where are all of these forms at? I have been searching and searching, but I cannot find them!

I like the message that you send here. You only have one life to live, so live it as you please because who knows what might happen? Like Dagmar said, live everyday as if it was your last.

I would have to say that my favorite part would be the last stanza:

    "Whatever your pleasure.
    Enjoy life!
    Forget what tomorrow brings?
    At your complete leisure!
    Remove strife,
For today we live like kings!"

Love the ending. It makes me want to do just that. However, I am winding why "Forget what tomorrow brings" ends in a question mark. I don't understand the meaning there...but maybe I am just not catching something :)

    Excellent poem
