My Father....

Strength and supporting hands dad, you've always given me.
Guidance when it was needed, and love firm as a rooted tree.
You let me be myself, finding out my owm mistakes...
that's what growing up was all about, taking my own stakes.

But your words of wisdom where there, embedded in my mind.
As well as your care and patience, that was strong and kind....
I'm grown up now, but still look to you as my protector and friend.
And as long as life gives us breath, I will, until the end.

    A sweet and lovely dedication to your father!
    Fathers do a great deal for his children and it takes us kids some time to see it. A nice father's day poem that holds love, respect and admiration..beautifully penned!
