My Sonnet

I thought a sonnet I would try to write.
And trying such I found no easy task!
Getting the meter right I found a plight.
Am I doing okay so far I ask?!
Be honest with me please oh do not lie.
I must achieve this task 'fore day is done.
It will not beat me oh it won't not I!
Should I sit here till rising of the sun.
Ben is the Master here of Sonnet writes.
I must confess he writes them with such flair!
He scribbles in the middle of the night.
Nothing I pen shall ever near compare!

I've wrote this sonnet purely out of fun.
I'm finished now I have my sonnet done!

    Ben is right iambic pentameter is a bugger. I was reading a few examples of mine from years back. Your sonnet is hands down much better than my efforts.

    Well done, keep attempting them and one day you'll write a winner. Having said that Ben still needs to win with a sonnet. Lol
