Overcoming....

In a world that's known for tit for tat,
where revenge is sweet, and I'll get your back,
seems to be the order of the day,
really these rules don't have sway.

For to overcome pain and misery,
an example of grace we must be.
Overcoming evil with good...
is the way forward and we should

take steps to transform anothers life,
that may be bitter and full of strife.
For in kindness and loving we will see,
a transformation, peace and reality

    So true, this world is filled with hatred, revenge and anger. If only they stopped and took the peaceful way of helping and showing some kindness, the world will be healthier!

    It's lovely to see a new poem from you, Olwin. Your writing is always so uplifting and full of wisdom and we would all do well paying heed to it.
    I agree completely: the world is full of spite and mercenary attitudes, but if we are to make strides forward, we all need to show a little more love and compassion.
