Alone and far from the madding crowd
it stood...
watching its life pass it by
scenes from battle field gone awry...

Its dreams - gunpowder that flared up in
hapless smoke...
its hopes like falled soldiers left to die...

Moments don't stand still in time;
this soul could find no reason and rhyme!

A mission that had no name
filled with sorrow, pain and shame...

Standing on the sidelines,
it surrenders to its past...
was its mere existence or just fate?

Scattered in the wind,
its memories gallop away from reach.

It sees everything in blood;
did all else begin here or was it left
behind somewhere, someplace - alone?

Dreams beckon its senses back
and a longing to understand fills
its lungs with hope, but is it enough?

    Aweeeeesome collab guys!!!

    Like Baby R said this is a very powerful write :-) very sad content but that last stanza....WOW! I like to see hope in a sad piece there is something about it thats stirs something within the reader...well in me anyways.

    I have a small request......ANOTHER PLEASE!!!!

    Loved reading this. It is so disheartening and terribly sad through the entire piece. That being said it's so refreshing to see the glimmer of hope in the last stanza. Love the imagery, you two did a great job on this, keep writing.
