Monster

by Lemon   Aug 3, 2013

I feel like I'm part of a movie
Where I'm the bad guy, the monster,
Lurking deep in the woods.
I could map out my life in books like Frankenstein
And the Hunchback of Notre Dame
But I know if I climbed up to the rooftop and cried out 'sanctuary'
You'd be the only one to give it to me
You have a rare heart, unlike any other
I hear a drop hit the ground and look up, but it's not raining.
It is only then I realise that I'm crying
Kneeling in front of your door, the tears pouring silently down my face
Because you're different
Because you listen
Because you believe in me
And casting off my shadow
I step into the sanctuary that is your arms

*Challenge prompts:
Deep in the woods
Rare heart
Believe in me
My life in books
Rooftop*

This was sad but also hopeful. So many times we are in a dark place and need to find a sanctuary, sometimes it is with someone special, and when we have a person like that, it makes this so much easier to deal with

I loved the use of the prompts, and the imagery was good and the wording simple but effective.

    Great work Lemon :) x
