Lifeless

by ah satan 666   Feb 10, 2014

A blockage you say,
Try another...

It's been months.
A pack of bic, a fountain pen later...
And still nothing!

No caressing from ink,
Lifeless lay the brilliant white silk like sheets...
bare on the oak dresser.

No stampede in emotions,
No lightning, yet thunderous thoughts...

Just numb.

This is a fantastic poem for the wording you used is spot on. I loved the story that enfolds. I hate when you keep trying to write over and over again but nothing ever comes out. I liked the line "caressing ink" it seems there like the ink is your only friend. The last line is powerful as well because it stands out. "Just numb". That tells me each time you tried to write you fell deeper into sadness and your heart and emotions became numb. Beautiful wording and poem. 5/5

    This is a start??

Then the next one will be better and more will come out.

I can sense the frustration here, of wanting to express emotions but they do not come.

However, you have made a really strong poem, well worded and creative, and I am sure many on here will relate to this, and be thinking " yep, that is me right now!"

I know you will find the words when the time is right, and you will come back with a bang.

    Enjoyed this. xx

Thank you, for conveying my thoughts exactly. It's like you get a million different ideas, but when it comes to bringing them to life there's a disconnect. So in short, well penned.

This describes my efforts at writing over the last few months.

To me this reads as writers block,
I love the layout and the way every word has impact.
