Haunted

by Kasie   Jan 18, 2017

Alone within the darkness,
Surrounded by those walls.
The house that once belonged to him,
Now echoes phantom squalls.

Footsteps heard outside my door,
And muffled voices in the air.
Into the hall, I peered out,
But there was no one there.

Curiously searching to no avail,
Looking for a familiar figure.
Around me, the air chilled,
And in my ear.... a whisper.

Instantly, I froze with fear,
Not knowing what to do.
Wishing I would have stayed in bed,
Instead of trying to pursue.

Gaining the needed courage,
I bolted for the door.
Tripping and stumbling along the way,
As I ran like I never had before.

That's creepy. I've always heard that children can sense things that adults can't.

Thank you. It's actually partially true. When I was about 10 years old, I heard footsteps and I got out of bed to go see if one of my parents were up and no one was there. My parents were in their bed sound asleep. Still to this day I'm not sure if it was my wild imagination or just the house creaking. But, a man by the name of Bengy died in the house. The house always gave me the creeps.
