How to Forgive

How to forgive?
First -
Don’t think that the world is perfect
For it is not.
Words like flaws, mistakes, misgivings
Are found in the dictionary for a purpose.

Second –
Know yourself
Enough to know that
Whatever is said and done to you
Does not define who you are.

Third –
Love genuinely
Forget the inhibitions
Love for the sole reason of giving
So there won’t be expectations on the return.

Lastly,
Be free
Live life knowing you can fail
But accept what is done and receive the future
And yes, always start by forgiving yourself.

    I couldn't just skip this poem even if left me speechless and continuously nodding along....
    Firstly the title drew me in because I needed help in forgiving those that have wronged me in one way or another and I was not disappointed.
    The content was honest and raw and to me it was personal, maybe you yourself needed to be able to forgive and I guess many of us need to in order to move on with our lives.

    stanza 1: yes totally agree the world is no perfect infact and please excuse me but I personally feel with everything going on that the world is on its arse!!!

    Stanza 2: really loved this! It's not our fault when people treat us badly but theirs and I am just beginning to realise this.

    Stanza 3: I also loved this. We should not say "I love you" of the intentions are wrong but people do unfortunately!!

    Stanza 4: a powerful ending.

    This is one of my faves from you definitely!!
