Who Invited The Cowgirl?

by Ren   Jun 8, 2017

But wait? Who’s this?
A lone girl with dirty boots on her feet,
Comes galloping at her own speed,
Down the worn cobblestone street.
She huffs and she puffs,
Gasping for air,
As the party guests file in,
They wonderingly stare.
With a crack of her neck,
She dabs cherry red on her lips,
Before smoothing out her dress,
And swaying her hips.
She makes a shy curtsy,
And her disheveled curls fall,
Before she proudly enters,
This enchanting ball.
“I heard y’all need back up,”
And she flashes a crooked grin,
Toward the dear Lady Mel Liz,
And the dancing Duchess Em.
With a kick in her step,
And a mischievous spark in her eyes,
She blows a taunting kiss,
To all the waiting guys.
She twirls and she laughs,
Approaching her fellow women,
And with a tip of her hat, says,
“Howdy. I'm cowgirl Ren.”
