Strange things are happening

Yesterday I saw something
That I could not easily explain away
So I wrote about it in a poem
Hoping that would help me understand it today

However as I awoke
More questions came to mind
Where are you from
Why is it me you came to find?

Was this once your home
Or have you just decided to stop in?
Are you looking for some help
Or are you just lost wandering?

I thought you were a dream
A figment in my head
Until this morning when I awoke
To you standing at the edge of my bed

I’m not sure who was more surprised
When I softly said hello, your eyes opened so wide
I don’t think you knew I could see you
With that you were gone, and I was left horrified.

Please don’t stay away this time
Come back and visit me again
I want to be able to help you
To make another friend
