Truth or Lies?

Can we please skip all the nonsense
Stop beating around the bush
I shouldn't be obligated to lie
I don't see why I should

I wasn't offering an opinion
I wouldn't unless you asked
But if you seek one from me
The truth I will not mask

It's not fair to seek my counsel
Then cry when I say the words
You're asking so I'm telling
I won't lie because that's worse

Call me tactless if you want to
But you know where I stand
A connection based on reality
Not burying our heads in the sand

So next time you want my opinion
Really think about whether you do
I'd never want to cause you pain
But I refuse to lie to you.

    Kitty, honesty is the best policy. Unfortunately there are so many that don't want to hear the truth even when they say they do and get upset with you. A well said write.

    Honesty isn't the best policy.....in my eyes its the only policy, cowards and A holes lie as they lack the moral integrity to do anything but.

    I for one think honesty is always the best policy and there's no use sugar coating things to make someone feel better because in the end it'll come back to haunt us so even if there's sadness in the truth it's always a must even white lies can hurt us even if they're meant well anyway I digress fab piece with a fab message and rhyming
