Light of Hope

Through the sinister shadows of doubt.
And depression rises,
As if it were the blood moon etched into the oil painted sky.

The darkness surrounds me,
with every strum of my quivering heart;
Encasing me in a dense fog
Of anxiety and depression.

Silhouettes of agonizing memories,
Flood through the gates of hell
That I call my life;
Suffocating my last spark of happiness.

The demons of my past,
Haunt my once pleasant dreams.
While the scars that I have hidden
Are revealed beneath the crimson sky.
Shreds of pain, doubt, and misery
Escape from my eyes;
And seep into my firey cheeks.

Looking to the blood red sky,
Desperately searching for light.
One star shimmers through
The veil of loneliness and pain,
Giving me hope for a brighter horizon.

    Hello Kasie,

    I do hope you are well.

    This poem is one of those I enjoy best - visually pleasing and imagery inducing. I too, have written a few of this type, each time being frustrated at the limitations of this site. If only we could use images, place words wherever on the page we liked. Hell, I would like to insert sound bites, even a sound track. Alas, we can't despite my requests before the site had an overhaul.

    Anyway, rant over.

    This poem is laid out well, offering the reader an experience inside your mind. Minds are not always pleasant places, are they?

    Like your last line, there is always hope, as long as we look ahead.

    Take care.
