contended hound (syntuit string)

by Mr. Darcy   May 9, 2018

.
goggle wearing dog
smiled as he passed me by

in a bike basket

.

those ears seemed to wave
as his tongue grrrrew out of sight

off to the butchers?

Author's note:
I witnessed this on a road bridge as I walked my own dogs.
Also, line 2 has 6 syllables - I like it that way :)

This did make me chuckle and the imagery is fantastic I can picture you doing a double take and thinking "oh my" but not in so many words :)

Michael, this is brilliant and genuinely made me laugh - the imagery is sublime; I can literally picture this perfectly.
I was just about to message you about that 6 syllable thing, thinking you thought 'smiled' was 2 - unfortunately, your end notes ruined my smugdum (by the way, 'smugdum' is a word that I concocted in another comment the other day - expect to see it gracing dictionaries across the land soon. Rather good, isn't it?)
