Insomnia

by Robert Long   May 5, 2019

Here I lay
Wide awake
And I ask
Is this fate

1 sheep, 2 sheep
I count all night
Wanting to go to sleep
And be tucked in tight

but i toss and turn
with a racing mind
and i cant stop these thoughts
they're all intertwined

so here i lay
with insomnia as a friend
but i just want to sleep
So will this ever end

I have dealt with this for years and it is no joke. The body is tired but the mind keeps going. I actually have trained myself to go to bed with no TV and different breathing techniques and a glass of wine. It has helped me and staying away from stress. All the very best

Insomnia is something that many people battle myself included. (Something I tried recently and works for me is listening to audio books on my phone with my earphones plugged in) Hope you are able to get to sleep soon. Milly x

Insomnia is a pest. But I love this poem. The rhythm and the easy words. Effortless read.
One day soon, sleep will come easily. So keep fighting!
