Eleven fifty two

by Vanesa   Jun 9, 2019

You used to hate my laugh.
So I stopped laughing.
In fear that someone would find it as repulsive as you.
Something so personal, so true causing you such discomfort.
I often think if it’s the act of me laughing,
Or if it was just me being happy that you couldn’t stand.

I’m left alone with all these scars.
Emotional.
Physical.
Mental.
Your gone and yet I reopen each one every night.
Picking and picking
Apart
Every single moment.
I want my laugh back.

I know friendship is not like love, but in someway it really is. Someone came to me and said I hate the fact that you’re always smiling and positive, I was taken aback, I did not know how to reply. Sometime later we became friends, we still are.
You may change people with your smile, you may give someone who is having a bad day a little joy!!

I like how honest this is, I’m sorry if I crossed the line.

Love is loving someone despite the irritations. Don't believe anyone who says they love you who seeks to diminish who you are. Take back your laughter and wear it proudly as your shield. Sending you a warm hug and all my best wishes Milly x

Love is, finding the annoying, endearing and never knowing it annoyed anyway.
