I Pick Up My Pen

by Olabooye Bukola Elizabeth   Jun 13, 2019

I pick up my pen
But these words aren't flowing
Feels like am stuck in this haze
Trying to break out of this maze
This is only a phase
I wish would pass fast
So i can go back to the days
Where words are my lyrics
And the world my inspiration
I feel so lucky
To be able to pour my thoughts in writing
Give voice to the voiceless
Giving my words life
I am a creator
Of feelings you can't express
That's why am always striving
Putting myself in your shoes
Trying to feel this emotions you can't describe
I hope i pass a message
And influence the world am living
I wish someday
That my writings are in history
So that our children can understand
The lives that we were living
I pick up my pen
But it feels like am not writing

B!

I had that time too, and it got me for a little more than three years. I got to a point where I thought that I wont write again. But that time has passed, it will pass for you too. You already took your first step out of it :)

Welcome to the site :) I think that everyone goes through that stage of not being able to articulate exactly what they want to say but I think you have managed to be very eloquent and put forward your thoughts well... Look forward to reading more of your poetry. Milly x
