What Better Dream?

by Mark   Jun 17, 2019

If dreaming paths the way to where you are
Then why has none to you, so taken me;
Into that Eden of the furthered far
That far, that my imaginings can't see?
Perhaps my silent dreamer cannot bear;
That love revive; which past and futures turn,
But do I not see you where eyes do stare;
Therein our son, and there in candle burn,
Yes! Waking moments have within, you here!
That need not dream, for dreams have you to take
Away from my devote, and your endear -
Of breaths that whisper love that love does make.

What better dream could render you alive
Than what my eyes do know and not deprive.

    You've managed to create an old style sonnet here, Mark. I like your questioning, why is love has not become all that dreams have allowed.
    Good work.
