Mute Crickets

by Maple Tree   Aug 19, 2019

I've lost a speck of me
down in the darkness
where the crickets dwell.

They sing to these eyes
as if lightening sparkled
within my soul; its not
enough for them to sing
because I cant hear them.

all I feel is the depths
of sadness with a weight
of loneliness and nothing
can stop it once her heart
stops beating.

A hesitant well done from me, Andrea, as I am aware that the content is far more important than the competition.
