Winter bird.

by Poet on the Piano   Oct 13, 2019

I am not a caged bird,
but sometimes, I prefer the isolation.
I cannot hurt those who are far away.
They see me fly,
"oh, what potential your wings have"
and I ask myself
if I imagined all the times when I
collided with the earth,
or if they chose to never notice
my descent.

I'm really happy this is nominated. Mary Anne, for such few words you really have said a lot. Your question at the end makes me ponder the answer to that. I'd like to think they dont see your descent in the same manner you do. Maybe they just see the happier moments. Or hold out for the happier moments? Hugs my dear-

A really well written short piece from you MA. There is far more beyond this piece, and I feel that people don't always notice our 'falls' in life, and some times expect too much from us too
    nice work, M :)
