Shadow Chasers

by Maple Tree   Nov 4, 2019

If life was simple
the dullness of her eyes
would be a window to a
soulless soul, and no food
for the hungry.

She dances naked in front of a mirror-
speaking riddles in the air,
catching snowflakes with her tongue;
but the world sees demons
sitting side by side upon her shoulders,
nothing will change as long as darkness
follows.

I've known her since first breath,
all I see is rainbows in her heart
but I'm just a mother; I've filled her pockets
with all the stars I had and now I have nothing left to give
except my unconditional love and that is not enough to save her
from the shadows that chase her.

A mother’s love is one of the greatest of them all. Andrea in here had showed her pain watching her daughter suffer, and believes that even her unconditional love isn’t enough to heal her daughter’s wings. A painful piece coming from a strong woman!!

Andrea, a deep and dark piece that shows so much emotion as writing from a mothers heart for her child.
    A beautiful piece
    Much love, M :)x
