napowrimo 22 - Gloomy

by Sunshine   Apr 24, 2020

I can see the black forest
deep-rooted inside you,
though the tangible battle
is in the dimness outside.
Your tongue tangled by dusk,
you're often ready for farewell.
Embedded in your mind,
the end is always near.
Your faith in light is fragile,
mesmerized by midnight legends,
dawn is your limit.
I know you never think of morning,
you never expect to see the radiant cracks
as the sun paves its way out of darkness..

    'your're often ready for farewell.'

    'your're' should be you're

MA really put it best, this is a warming write with you trying to gentle nudge someone towards light, towards hope <3

Ahh, I cannot pick a single favorite line because I love ALL of them. The feel of this, the soft reassurance that there will be light, that there is another path... something about this was so comforting. I thought of it as a friend who is rooted in fear, cannot see a way out, yet you gently remind them the dawn will come and it will be a new day.

    Beautiful <3
