Coronavirus Acrostic

by cassie hughes   May 6, 2020

Caught within these painted walls, unable to get free
On endless loops the days pass by
Reusing pastimes long forgot
Or staring at hypnotic scenes on screens
Not tuned to what we want.
Another day begins to dawn, unnamed they mingle week by week,
Vast empty hours we dare not count
In case their counting reckons waste,
Rewards somnambulantic roles
Unhealthy and lethargic states.
So here we are and here we stay in isolation purgatory.

Brilliant, dark and entirely current, obviously. Acrostics done this well really are a pleasure to read.
