Jeremy Asleep

by Lindsay   Jul 25, 2020

I watch the way you sleep every night.
The way your shadowy figure engulfs into our mattress.
Fully rested and unmoved. At peace with yourself.
Did I find you in a dream?
I trace my fingers against your skin like dragging a magnet.
I'm safe in this moment.
Secured in your embrace where I would lay forever.
Bury me here.
I want to breathe every last fiber of you as if it were my last.
Your scent of vasts forests with never ending trees.
A sweetness of morning dew from its fruit.
I listen to your heart that is matched evenly with my thoughts.
It kisses my ear.
Each beat vibrating into a burst of new color.

I love this.

Such a lovely piece, full of love and contentment. I especially like the line 'I listen to your heart that is matched evenly with my thoughts.' A beautiful piece.
