Soul searching

by Mr. Darcy   Nov 9, 2020

Reaching through reflective pools
To save a soul from sin;
But how can I protect myself
And not get dragged right in?

I see the steps just like a dance
Upon the lakes of time -
Each blinding move, a knowing nod,
Just like those steps of mine.

A breath, a prayer, a distant dream
Of technicolour tone;
Somehow the waves reverse the hands
To guide those very bones.

A nurtured light of purest white
Shone from the first ‘till last.
A crashing sea
was rightly calmed,
The ship
now safely... .. . . casts.
