Misery

by Lilychu   Feb 13, 2021

Guns at the ready
Getting prepared to fire
The amount of dead bodies
Their count gets higher

Screaming and yelling
Piercing the atmosphere
Bombs dropping close
Getting nearer and nearer

Blood drips down
From the scars and wounds
The fights of their lives
Spent over afternoons

Wives at home working
Getting worried with each day
Hoping that their husband
Is doing well and fighting okay

Soon the air becomes silent
No screams and yells to be heard
The eyes of surviving soldiers
From tears are now blurred

Thank you. Sometimes it takes something as small as a poem to move ones emotions :>
