Leaving The Past

by Katrynn   Jun 16, 2021

Ticking seconds ticking fast
Leaves comfortable sameness in The Past
Tick! tick! tick!-ing
Faster now!
Moving on to 'new' at last;
A bittersweet shifting, leaving The Past.

      I was hoping someone would point this out!
      I was trying to keep a steady pace, like a steady tick tick ticking rhythm and I'm super glad someone noticed! :)

    With each tick society moves around its clock, ordered and safe, but what if a tick wants to tock? Off, off, off, with that tock for it needs to tick not tock!

    Sorry for my ramblings. I like your poem based on Jonas's story. Nice work!
