My Pen

by SiLeNtLy ScReAmInG   Jul 21, 2021

You stole my pen,
my words-

My voice!

Your apathy,
Silenced-
my creativity.

Slowly,
Ever the master of
Subtlety.
You whittled away
Pieces of me.

I didn’t notice.

I was already
Shattered.
A few missing pieces,
didn’t seem to
Matter.

Until,
My pen ran dry,
and words-
just wouldn’t form.

Isolated.
I let you steal more,
than anyone before.

Even at my most
Broken,
no one ever
Smothered-
my words yet to be
Spoken!

You stole my pen,
my words,
But your gravest sin-
was revealed in

The Silence-
of my voice.
