I'm Back

by silvershoes   Oct 29, 2021

Here it is
My god, here it is
It was hiding somewhere cavernous inside of me for years
Deep, deep, so deep it was dormant
The river dry
Passion rotted
Storm quelled
But the waters are returning now
A wet, rattling croak trembles through my chest
Moisture thickening, pulses through aching air
Gushing out of my lungs now,
Pouring from my fingertips like bursting streams
The ocean pulled in by the moon, crashing waves
Oh god, after so long, it’s here
And with it, I am
brought back into myself
Out of myself
Full of myself
Overflowing with parts of me I thought had shriveled up
In the desert of my consciousness
Like a hurricane raging, erupting,
Here it is

Here I am

That declaration in the last line, yes! So happy to see you back. I felt the relief here of having that outlet again, the rush and flow of emotions able to be expressed in words. The imagery throughout was spot-on to really show what this means. There's nothing quite like it!
