Only a Matter of Time

by Walter   Jan 2, 2022

We are two clocks of different times
One much older and the other prime
While I've two hands and also tick
You are digital and quite slick

But our job is quite the same
Despite from where we came
To show the time to those who pass
Behind our clear face of glass

Although young kids don't look at me
Your face they prefer to see
My hands and Roman Numerals
I think confuse the juveniles

But every hour when I chime
The crowds seem to be all mine
My tune is grand as I sing
By cuckoo birds from within

We might seem like cat and dog
Digital and analogue
Batteries are how you hum
But for me a pendulum

Although every hour I strike
We are very much alike
Please don't judge by what you think
In spite of looks we stay in sync

This is really good. I love personification poems. Look forward to more.
