Stability.

Stability is

a swinging pendulum that comes to a brief rest,
energy transferred, taking a breath.

It no longer feeds off of hopelessness,
or laughs at the chaos of euphoria.

It is

a moment of peace I didn't know could exist,
tucked between flurries of anxiety and heightened emotion.

The opposite of Cloud 9,
yet rising above an early grave,

it is the middle ground.

It is contentedness.
