I stare into the silence
While I contemplate what I've feared;
A brick wall has replaced the fence
Protecting the heart and mind.
Stars no longer twinkle,
No, they're rather dim;
The moon doesn't harbor the same tingle,
No, I block out her hymn.
I've made friends with my demons,
They caress the pain from the darkness
That I shan't speak of any longer -
Their existence the only consistency to harness.
With the soft echo of a closing door,
I walk towards the gates of my Hell
Head held high, ready to flourish
Within my own chaos; I bid you all farewell.
I will find my own way throughout my isolation -
I shall dominate the world alone,
Smiling through my bitter tears
And carving my future into the brimstone.
