Todays your birthday
Another year has passed
Don't you just wish
That every year could last?

Your one more year older
Now your seventeen
We've been friends forever
Do you know how long its been?

Its time to blow out ur candles
That sit upon your cake
Close your eyes
What wish will you make?

Now i can smother you
With a big birthday kiss
Its moments like this
I really do miss

I'll hug you so tight
And never let you go
I love you so much
If you were here you'd know

Its your birthday today
I'm pretending your here
Like everything is normal
Happy Birthday we cheer

And u laugh and get embarrassed
Like its not a big deal
This artificial moment
Almost seems real

The fact still remains
Your not here with me
That heart warming smile
Ill never again see

If you were alive
You'd turn 17 today
But instead you took
Your life away

And if i could make
Just one wish
I would tell u Happy Birthday

    beautiful poem well writtten i can also realte to how it is on bdays and every holiday or special occasion.I lost my bro to suicide nearly to yrs ago. he would have turned 15 in april so i know how hard itis.Im truly sry 4 ur lost.

    Sad and beautiful poem Amy...I hadn't seen yours until just today..but I wrote one for my brother Randy on his birthday on August 16th just as you did here...look it up if you like..For Randy it's called..I feel for you..my brother would have been 46 this month and is greatly missed..what a waste of a life..take care, Michelle
