Those We Trust

Please read this before you vote

Our leaders are like bullies that care not for men they just use the lash,
it is all for power or the ever mighty cash.
They see people for what they can only get,
and take or conquer with no regret.
They tell you on the TV it is right to kill,
for it is the only thing, that will make your heart heal.
It is those leaders that send your offspring to die,
and leaving you just to ask why.
They line your kin in boxes or send them broken and lost,
for it is not their families but ours that pays the cost.
Still we vote them in every four years right on the dime,
only to bare remorse for their lasting crime.
They say they take the fifth or throw some money about to hide their greed,
then they laugh behind closed doors, while we are left to bleed.
Still we are like cattle left to only do what we do best,
help them fill their pocket books and be a gentle guest.
We are amazed at the little wealth they throw our way,
but know that they do it, to keep us at bay.
They tell us who we should fear and hate,
while we are the ones to die for their fate.
If they were to get this piece, maybe I would be gone too,
like so much of us that tried to stand for what was true.
Hit with a bullet or made to fall on our knees,
only to live or die as they please.
I am just a man no military or even collage degree,
but even I can look and witness the evil I see.
They lie to us and make their own stake in blood,
but it is our bodies that the grave yards give flood.
