Long Mile Home

by Hidden Meaning   Jan 21, 2005

Burning light free from darkness
softly exposes all relative materials for sight
black and blue the bruises turn
from the red clots they once were.

so side by side we walk alone
to the depth of forest wood
promises to return one day but that day never came

shipped out to hold our own
packed with bulky clothes
left to starve with rats to eat
and fight our own brutal way home

but to deep we went never to return
a never ending story filled with nightmares
never find our bodies
never able to free our true hearted souls

so on our way we march the streets
dodging suicidal bombers at our feet
hit one day hit twice to kill
now I'll never get home alive anyway
