The Day Laughter Died

by Knight_of_Blackrose   Feb 20, 2005

A bright and sun shining day
But now the laughter has gone away
Everyone had their chance to shine
Now we have lost all reason and rhyme

The laughters gone, even in those innocent eyes of a child
Replaced with fear and insecurity
The laughter is gone, yet we still insist we have done nothing wrong

A dull and dreary day
The sounds of school yard laughter have drifted away
Sudden pleas fall on deaf ears
No one is willing to hear their fears

The laughter is gone, even in the voices of the blissfully ignorant
Replaced by self-doubt and hostilities
The laughter is gone, and so is the child

A dark and dreary day
The laughter has died this day
The child has died
Ended it all, without a single cry
This day, the child has died
