Screen Name

by Dark Savior   Mar 17, 2005

To Heather:

Your younger then me, so many I've been burned
hidden behind flesh of concrete and bars of fur

each day i would come home and feel the same
till one day i got a message from a screen name

it brought a smile, about what was said
it made me feel special and lift my head

each day i couldn't wait for get an e-mail or two
each day i would rush in the door and kick off my shoe

I'd smile no matter what she'd write
because she could see past the darkened night

even though we are miles apart
i feel we connected in each others heart

i sit here lonely in this filled room
wish she was here so i won't be so subdued

she is the only one i want to give my heart to
this is my precious present, my gift to you

It's nice to have someone who can brighten your day with a simple email...someone who can make you smile...this poem is beautiful (a few grammatical errors though).

Actually when we e-mailed back and forth it was just something talking about our poems or about how we were. When were we e-mailing back and forth it was just sort of as friends. Now i am IMGing her and talking to her that way. So it's sort of like looking back, even though i couldn't wait to get home and read the e-mails...we were only friends then so i didn't believe it.

    If that makes sense?

Nice write Shaun, yet another beautiful poem. but i think "each day i couldn't wait for get an e-mail or two" should be "each day i couldn't wait *to* get an e-mail or two" or "each day i couldn't wait for geting an e-mail or two" (sorry if i am wrong, i am not good at the suggestion thing, but i am trying). God bless you two!
