The Perfect One

by Heather M Craig   Mar 24, 2005

I stand in the present
but the future taints my mind
with hopes you'll love me forever
and leave our pain behind.

Two hearts matured
into the realms we called unknown
found the missing pieces
that took time to be shown.

Fears that burn all concentration
are the many battles won.
I stood them face to face
and I found the perfect one.
