The Ultimate Rejection

by Heather M Craig   Apr 5, 2005

-I know it's really long, but it's probably much different than anything you've ever read, hope you understand it and enjoy =)

What is in the name of family
never amounted to the cliche,
no American dream to seek,
just the master's command to obey.
Pretty home filled with delicacy,
only witnessed to these eyes...
in the person she blossomed to be
was the person they denied.

So young in age , friendships proceeding,
blossoms the heart to refresh and anew
the being of one's fragile soul
but in time, is easily broken in two.
Devotion of ones life mounted to the other
quickly loosened when revealed genuine,
masks came undone and friendships lost,
I've suddenly been released declined.

Now matured from the repetitive heartache,
love falls into the heart from the omniscent,
hands of my Lord, He gives unto me the priceless gift
but once again, the hands of time make joy descent.
Eliminated from the treasures of adoration
and secluded in the world into the pitch black
where emptiness and sorrow are the only friends
and God is the only light to keep me on track.

And upon my road traveled, destination is implored
to quicken the release of the evils within me
and go to the one Savior I trust and confide in,
I'm playing God in killing for the urge to be set free.
My only hope in thee has been shattered
behind the eyes turn dim, I've lived the life in deception,
for He never existed but in the creation I built in mind.
No heaven or divine to surrender too, that is my ultimate rejection.

Wow Heather that was a great poem... certainly a change from your usual. It was very thought provoking.
And my comment to Bogies' comment. "The Lord giveth, and the Lord taketh away" I'm sorry but that just seems like a tease to me. In retail they call that bait and switch, which is a crime.

Thank you all, but I noticed above in bogie's comment that "we should not deny God's love" ~~I don't. Remember, not all writers write about themselves or the way they think, In all reality, a book I read inspired this poem. God is something I believe strongly in, yet if you never question yourself then that's pure ignorance, no offense to anyone, but you'll never find who you are and your outcome if you live a life based on following the belief of else. Look deep within yourself, and tell me you never questioned Him.....you would lie if you told me you did not.

    In Respect,
    Heather
