Upon My Knees

by Heather M Craig   Apr 9, 2005

At the ground, upon my knees
I pray to the one God above me
but I shall not ask for materialistic treasures,
but the hopes of worldly pleasures.

I beggeth Him to cease the pain
that the generation around me seems to obtain.
I plead for Him to be the protector of vice
that the children endure each day of their lives.

I cry to Him to increase the world's endurance,
to let love and happiness fill that expanse.
I ask Him to just decrease the venganance and death rates
and bring forward mental and emotional elate.

I incriminate Him for wasting His power
when He sees the misguided, He shall cower.
I beg You, God, if You are there
deflate the world's despair!

Upon my knees, once again I plead,
for You to carry out the world's need,
And I can only wish that upon my knees
my Lord will aim to please...

Upon these days of tragic horror,
can You do more than ignore?
I pray to You, Jesus Christ,
save these wretched lives!
