He awakes with a start and looks around.
The beeping monitors are the only sound.

What is this? Why is he here?
Overtaken by unmeasurable fear!

It all comes back in a flash of light.
The car, the storm, that fateful night.

Caught mid-scream, unable to breathe.
Clawing to escape this unbearable dream.

Sedation and counseling till he's ready to leave.
Three horrible months, it's hard to believe.

Home sweet home is now empty and dead.
Visions and flashbacks haunting his head.

Unable to sleep, terrified of the rain.
Goes to the bar to escape all the pain.

Drains his glass and looks around.
How many more drinks till the memories drown?
