I Heard You Wanted A Man

by Robert   Apr 27, 2005

I heard it all before you ever appeared,
how you trusted some one and your emotions were seared.
How you got all this baggage of what other men did to you,
wondering if any man could ever be true.
Still you stand there looking at me for some hope,
thinking maybe I was just too weak to cope.
A perfect man your dreams will never come to fold,
for what you need is the right man for you to grow old.
How do you get him where can you buy the a potion,
to have a man fulfill every needs and ride every emotion.
Living like there is no tomorrow.
without the pain even without the sorrow.
You want some one to let your passions rise and fall with glance,
and in the darkness of your home fill you with romance.
All of this could be right before you eyes,
but you wonder if this move is very wise?
Ok I shall take you as slow as you will come,
for I am blunt but I am not dumb.
Talk to me share what you will with me,
for I am a open book come and see.
Turn each page one after the other,
and let me show you what I wish in a lover.
I will give and take as you see fit in the end,
but know through it all I want a true friend.
This is too good to be true you tell yourself how could I be real,
for I am human and this is my final deal.
I am blunt, and sarcastic my follies to many to mention,
for like all trouble youth I spent my time in Detention.
I am ambitious, and have a real need to teach,
and often I go above and beyond any reach.
I do this with care though I know my limits but still press on,
through it all I just want to see another dawn.
If you were to take me for what I am not for what you want me to be,
I will gladly give you love every waking day and this you will see.
I wish to leave this for you to ponder as I close this poem of mine,
to drink me as your man is to drink everlasting wine.
