Recapturing My Youth

by HOLLY ARMER   May 23, 2005

When I was young
I held the world in my hands
You can be what you want
The sky's the limit, no demands

When I was young
My dreams encompassed my destiny
You can achieve anything
Just follow your heart, it'll set you free

When I was young
I had a heart so pure and true
You're always considerate and kind
We never expect less of you

When I was young
I was sheltered from the worldly truth
Oh, how I wish I could go back
and recapture my youth

Holly, nice write I think we all wish at one time or another for a chance to start over and revisit simpler times.

    "When I was young

Oh, how I wish I could go back

--Oddly enough, I was sitting in the park yesterday noticing the innocence of this little boy's eyes and the naivety of his smile......I recalled the days of simplicity yearning for a dream and now, feel the age jump at you wishing to go back, to feel the simplest treasures in life.---Beautiful poem, Holly. It describes an idea that has been rewinding in my head for a while now and you conveyed it wonderfully.

    Love you!
